• Maintain accurate and complete student records, and prepare reports on children and activities.

• Teach socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.

• Confer with parents, administrators, testing specialists and professionals to develop individual educational plans.

• Teach personal developmental skills such as goal setting, independence, and self-advocacy.

Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration work time that provides students with opportunity to observe, question, and investigate.

• Evaluating and monitoring children to determine physical and mental development, including social, motor development, self-help, cognitive and language skills

• Documenting activities, tracking progress and formulating therapy plans, including exercises and activities for parents to administer

Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty

• Determine the extent of communication problems by having a patient complete basic reading andvocalizing tasks or by giving standardized tests

• Create and carry out an individualized treatment plan.

• Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop behavior intervention plans for the student population.

• Analyze behavior data in order to make adjustments/modifications to students’ programming.
