• Design of standard operating procedures.
• Review pumping and piping design plans for wastewater treatment, water treatment (desalination and make-up), HRSG, demineralization plant, and turbine systems.
• Prepare data on potable water quality, including bromate and bromide results for the Water Quality Regulatory Reporting System (WQRRS).
• Prepare water quality monitoring reports covering microbiological parameters, heavy metals, radioactive, and other quality parameters in accordance with the Department of Energy (DOE).
• Provide the Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) with data on the quality of distillate water, including measurements of pH, conductivity, TDS, iron, and copper levels.
• Coordinate the collection and submission of bulk chemical samples (Belgard, Belite, Sodium Sulfite, Caustic Soda, Sodium Hypochlorite, etc.) for biannual Table G parameter analysis, review test results, and prepare regulatory reports for Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADQCC) compliance.
• Conduct analysis and routine calibration of various advanced laboratory instruments such as ion chromatography, UV-visible spectrophotometer, and atomic absorption spectrometer.
• Use Maximo to assist the department's assets in scheduling maintenance and aiding in a systematic workflow.
• Monitor monthly and annual chemical consumption and maintain records for internal and external audits.
• Supervise a shift chemist, daily analysis, work activities, and shift rotations.

• Conduct chemical analysis and monitor the chemical regime.
• Perform regeneration of mixed bed exchangers in the demineralization plant.
• Perform acid cleaning activities carried out on the desalination units.
• Review laboratory procedures in collaboration with the department manager.
• Perform monthly acid cleaning and maintenance of the electro-chlorination plant
• Conduct training programs for interns and fresh graduates in the chemical department.
