· Undertake and perform a full range of nursing assessments (vital signs mandatory).

· If Prescribed RT-PCR testing and administering IV- fluids to the symptomatic patients.

· Maintain confidentiality regarding patient/employee/facility/corporate information.

· Assist in the development of standards, measures and indicators for clinical practice, with the support of the Head Nurse or the Corporation Senior Nurse.

· Comply with (in personal) practice and monitors staff compliance of the adherence to PHCC wide policies and procedures and Nurse specific evidence-based guidelines, policies, procedures and standards.

· Discharge the patient after necessary care given.

· Coordinate patient care conferences.

· Performs the diagnosis, treatment, and intensive care of infants in the first few months of life.

· Administrative and referral experience including admission, assessment, treatment, referral and education for new-born and infants.

· Collaborates with all members of the health care team to ensure effective and efficient patient care.

· Provides the education and demonstration to families regarding infant's health care and precautions.

· Contributes to quality nursing care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement techniques.

· Attend deliveries and resuscitation of new born infants.

· Complete admissions into the NICU after deliveries.

· Preceptor to new NICU nurses through entire 6 months of orientation.

· Identifying/teaching parents educational needs and promoting safe infant care upon discharge.

· Evaluate and monitor the patient’s progress.

· Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition.

· Deliver regular updates to doctors, patients, and their family members.

· Begin treatment and monitor doses.

· If necessary, respond to a medical emergency and alert the appropriate doctors.

· Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in the ICU unit.

· Complete all necessary paperwork before transferring a patient.

· Maintain patient records.

· Create and implement effective care plans.

· Identify patients' age-specific needs and alter care plans as necessary to meet those needs. Provide post-mortem care.

· Perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based upon patients' clinical status.

· Evaluate patients' vital signs and laboratory data to determine emergency intervention needs.

· Administer blood and blood products, monitoring patients for signs and symptoms related to transfusion reactions.

· Administer medications intravenously, by injection, orally, through gastric tubes, or by other methods.

· Set up and monitor medical equipment and devices such as cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators and alarms, oxygen delivery devices, transducers, and pressure lines.

· Monitor patients' fluid intake and output to detect emerging problems such as fluid and electrolyte imbalances.

· Monitor patients for changes in status and indications of conditions such as sepsis or shock and institute appropriate interventions.

· Assess patients' pain levels and sedation requirements.

· Assess patients' psychosocial status and needs including areas such as sleep patterns, anxiety, grief, anger, and support systems.

· Collaborate with other health care professionals to develop and revise treatment plans based on identified needs and assessment data.

· Collect specimens for laboratory tests.

· Compile and analyze data obtained from monitoring or diagnostic tests.

· Conduct pulmonary assessments to identify abnormal respiratory patterns or breathing sounds that indicate problems.

· Document patients' medical histories and assessment findings.

· Document patients' treatment plans, interventions, outcomes, or plan revisions.

· Identify patients who are at risk of complications due to nutritional status.

· Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identified needs.

· Assist physicians with procedures such as bronchoscopy, endoscopy, endotracheal intubation, and elective cardioversion.

· Ensure that equipment or devices are properly stored after use.

· Identify malfunctioning equipment or devices.

· Assess family adaptation levels and coping skills to determine whether intervention is needed.
