Numerical Studies of Hydride Embrittlement in Zirconium Alloys

• Developed a microstructure-based multi-physics model of delayed hydride cracking (coupled hydrogen diffusion, elasto-plastic deformation, and hydride precipitation) using XFEM in MATLAB and COMSOL Multiphysics.
• Conducted fracture analysis using ABAQUS, including UMAT subroutines for hydrogen embrittlement simulations.
• Evaluated the effects of residual stresses, grain size, and grain boundary strength on crack propagation.
