DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key Responsibilities of an Infection Control Nurse
  • 1. Surveillance and Monitoring
  • Identify and report outbreaks of infectious diseases.
  • Collect and analyze data to detect trends and implement corrective actions.
  • 2. Policy Development and Implementation
  • Assist in the development and revision of infection control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that infection control practices are in line with local regulations and best practices.
  • 3. Outbreak Management
  • Lead the response to infectious disease outbreaks within the hospital.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to implement containment measures.
  • Key Responsibilities of a Staff Nurse
  • Interviews patients or their families to complete a medical history and to make psychosocial and physical assessment.
  • Identifies and documents changes in patients' health, especially those which interfere with the individuals' ability to meet basic needs.
  • Establishes a priority of care based on identified needs.
  • Provides direct patient care to individuals with well-defined and varied health problems in a structured setting.
  • Uses established criteria to evaluate patient care; modifies plan of care as necessary and documents changes.
  • Carries out the prescribed care according to established nursing practices; contacts physicians to report significant changes in patient health.
  • Meets with family, significant others, and members of the nursing team to establish and evaluate short and long-range treatment goals.
  • Bed side nursing care to assigned stable patients in the unit based on basic assessment and evaluating the outcomes
  • Provide routine care for all patients admitted in ICU
  • Make Intake and output chart after monitoring the fluid and electrolyte balance
  • Monitoring vital signs and report any deviation from normal to the concerned team leader
  • Administer medications and treatments to the patient as prescribed by the physician.
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in case of emergency.
  • Conduct nursing interventions like wound drainage, catheterization and medication administration to delegated patient within the scope of practice.
  • Specimen collection and send to the laboratory for the test, record the results accurately.
