  • Summary of my experience in this role:
  • Responsible for being a year 8 form tutor, monitoring their progression since being their form tutor in year 7;
  • Required to teach PSHE weekly; which included learning about citizenship, careers, health, social and environmental topics;
  • Monitor student attendance, punctuality and behaviour on a day-to-day basis - the form obtained an award for attendance on several occasions and we were also seen as the best-behaved form in the year;
  • Supported a year 9 and year 11 class form tutor by co-tutoring their form group;
  • Conducted multiple parents’ evenings through an academic term and also maintained an ongoing relationship with parents/guardians via email correspondence and telephone regarding any concerns or praise for students;
  • Provided verbal and written feedback on a regular basis giving students the opportunities to reflect on their work;
  • Encouraged interactive learning and incorporated the use of tools: Kahoot, GCSE Pod and Seneca into lessons and homework tasks;
  • Teaching Computer Science & IT: Key Stage 3 (year 7, 8 and 9), OCR Cambridge National Information Technologies (IT) (year 10 and 11); OCR Computer Science (year 10); OCR Cambridge Technical IT (Year 12 and 13);
