Summary

Over the past 20 years, I have been a thorough academic with proven track record in academic management. I have mentored graduate and post graduate (Doctoral) students in various academic matters. Additionally, I have developed a very strong alumni and industry connect that helps me transfer industry knowledge to students and bridge the much needed industry-academia gap. taking new initiatives, enhancing students' experience and adapting to changing situation has been a hallmark of my working style.

  • Over the past 5, I have taught 5 different subjects across various cohorts that includes GMBA, MGB, EMBA (Global Online), EMBA (Middle East Online) and EMBA campus based in Dubai, scoring an average feedback 9+
  • In my capacity of an Assistant Dean, I have managed around 20 cohorts over the past 5 years and have never received a feedback below 8.5 from the cohorts

A. Program Delivery

  • As an Assistant Dean, the key role responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for promoting and nurturing student-centric learning environment that ensures academic rigor and high-quality program learning outcomes for the assigned cohorts.
  • Actively collaborate with Subject area heads and teaching faculties to ensure subject contents are delivered as per the approved outlines while maintaining high academic standards as per Q&A policy.
  • Meet every faculty before and during the unit delivery and ensure effective delivery of unit and academic assessments as laid out for the unit, including using an engaged learning pedagogy / Student Board room (SBR).
  • Work closely with the program office to ensure effective functioning of the program on a day-to-day basis. Work closely with the Program office to ensure timely conduct of exams and timely release of assessments.
  • Monitor and implement relevant academic policies such as Student at Risk (SAR) and academic misconduct as per the policy guidelines.
  • Provide periodic reports/ data for various reports such as Dean's Report / SAR / early intervention.
  • Actively participate in planning and implementing orientation / re-orientation activities for assigned batches in consultation with Dean / PO team.
  • Play a critical role in creating/ revising the academic curriculum and the implementation thereof, as required.


B. Student Interactions

  • Conduct student committee meetings, in particular Academic Committee, on a bi-monthly basis to discuss key issues regarding classroom discipline, rules related to attendance and other matters. Meet other student committees as and when required, in consultation with their mentors.
  • Conduct monthly Town Hall meetings to address student issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Counsel students through early detection/monitoring and develop effective intervention strategies for ‘students at risk.'
  • Maintain regular engagement with students via the regular ‘Coffee' sessions to proactively identify and address student issues and concerns in collaboration with relevant teams.


C. Global Learning and Student Life

  • Collaborate with Global Learning team to plan and implement novel and immersive global learning and student life activities for the assigned cohorts with the aim of enhancing student global immersion leading to adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and global business intelligence.
  • Periodically monitor GL/SL activities, student engagement and impact of GL/SL activities and support GL team to address any issues / interventions.


D. Projects

  • Ascertain the progress of GIP projects during TH/ student interactions and bring to the notice of Director/Dy. Dir (GIP) for the assigned cohorts.
  • Collaborate with Area Heads on industry projects and meet corporate partners / industry mentors to assist with sourcing of industry projects.
