Leading the Management of Design Services for Roads, Railway and Metro Projects, duties include:

• Identifying and clarifying the scope of services to the multidisciplinary design team
• Preparation of design schedule including design activities, review periods and submission milestones
• Assigning and Monitoring the project budget among project disciplines Regular interface with Clients for progress reporting and collecting requirements
• Coordination with various project stakeholders and acquiring their requirements Leading internal design review sessions to assure compliance with Standards and Client Requirements
• Reporting to upper management on the design variations and their implications on the commercial aspects

Acting team leader for ‘Feasibility Study, Urban Design, Detailed Engineering Design, Environmental and Social Due Diligence in Mwanza, Ilemela, Geita and Kahama Cities/Municipalities/Towns” in Tanzania.

The project is funded by the World Bank and comprises 15 sub projects of total of 70km of roads, 4 bus terminals and 2 markets, with total estimated construction cost of 90M USD, duties include:

• Preparing of project design budget and technical inputs
• Leading meetings and presentations with the World Bank, Client and Local Government Authorities (LGAs)
• Leading site visits for the subprojects and collection of requirements from LGAs
• Coordination with the local design office partner for scope split and field investigations (topographic survey, traffic survey and geotechnical investigation
• Managing the design team at the design office for preparation of submittals

Leading the design of roadworks for rural roads and urban road networks throughout the different project design phases

Tasks include:

• Feasibility studies and vision preparation
• Optioneering and alternatives studies for various road projects

Assisting the Project Manager in management of design activities for “Design of Roads in Industrial Area, Qatar”

The project comprises concept, preliminary and detailed designs, and preparation of tender documents for a 220 km road network divided into 7 design and construction packages within Doha Industrial Area.

Duties include:

• Interface with Client and Client’s representative
• Leading the tender evaluation team for financial and technical evaluation Reporting on status of the project and preparing progress reports to the project manager and director
• Engagement with various stakeholders for communicating requirements to design teams and granting approvals
• Providing managerial and technical leadership support to the design team at the design office and review of technical and commercial documentations
• Monitoring changes in design and identifying and reporting on non-compliances
• Tendering services, including responding to technical and financial tender clarifications, tender bulletins preparation and tender documents update.

Conducting geometric design, alignment selection, design of earthworks and signing/marking schemes, in addition to preparation of specifications, calculations and coordination with other disciplines, for following selected projects:
