• Obtain project drawings/ documents from the relevant PM.
• Assist PM in handing over the site to the contractor.
• Attend various site meetings including the kick-off-meeting.
• Review and check material and shop drawing submittals.
• Inspect day-to-day activities on site.
• Conducting inspections for constructed items in the project such as concrete works, reinforcement for piles, slabs, walls, bridge abutments and foundations. And inspecting excavation, waterproofing, backfilling, and detours in accordance with approved ITPs (Inspection and testing plans).
• Witnessing various tests such as concrete durability tests, compressive strength, compaction field density tests (FDTs), batch plant calibration, piles integrity tests, batch plant trial mixes, and soil tests.
• Conducting planned surveillances on the project and on the contractor or subcontractor's works.
• Validating that the ongoing works being performed are in accordance with the project specifications and approved shop drawings submitted.
• Reporting on a daily basis to the Senior Resident Engineer and discipline engineer on the status of the works.
• Reporting any identified non-conformances to the project specifications.
• Reviewing submitted shop drawings by the contractor and ensuring they are in accordance with the relevant codes and standards referenced in the project specifications
