- I also acted as a room leader for two months from November to February as the room leader went on holiday to get married. My role was to check that all the planning was done every week. I also had to make sure the monthly planning and my colleague’s observations were done each month. I had to make sure the time sheets and the sleep chart was done every day when children were sleeping. I have to check that the evaluation was done daily and everyone was responsible for their activities. Child Minding, London, England September 2005 to August 2006 I worked with two boys between the ages of four and five years. During my work I picked the children from school took them back home. I also helped them with their home works, took the children to classes some days. I also used to play with the children and sometimes I used to cook their supper and get them ready for bed. I also took the children to play centres and play dates. I made sure children were in a safe and secure environment and I was aware of health and safety issues. I worked for five days a week totalling about twenty hours per week. Teaching placements and Voluntary Work Fox Primary School, England January - July 05 Voluntary work in the school with children ages seven to eight. During my placement I helped the teacher by assisting and helping him with his work. I also did some reading with the children. I helped children with their numeracy and literacy work. I also worked with children that needed some learning support by guiding the children and giving them instructions and help with their work. I helped them by showing and demonstrating what they should do during their computer lesson, how to use the computer and save work completed. Strawberry fields nursery school, England February 04 – April 04 I did some work with children between the ages of one to 3.11 years old. My role was to communicate effectively with children and the parents. I also demonstrated professional standards of time keeping, use of personal initiative, knowledge and awareness of health and safety. Fox primary school, England May 03 - July 03 I worked with children between the ages of 4 to 7 years old. Always had a positive and consistent attitude. Ability to communicate effectively with children, excellent time keeping. My role was to help children with their learning, support the national curriculum Miss Delaney nursery, England January 03 – April 03 In this nursery I worked with children between the ages of 1 to 3.11 years old by having commitment to ant discriminatory and tibias practice. I enjoyed communicating with children and reading stories with them singing songs. BBC woodlands nursery, England September 03 – December 03 I worked with babies between the ages of birth to one year old. Use of personal hygiene, washing hands, aprons when changing nappies, use of disposable gloves, feeding the baby, use of personal initiative, playing with the babies using different toys, rattles, musical instruments.
