  • Responsible through SERDAL Vetting System for the evaluation of the quality of tankers, Gas Carriers through TMSA, SIRE, CDI, PSC, VPR, Vessel history, Owner/Operator profiles, LIOYDS casualties and marine incidents verifying compliance with the international regulations and industry standards in line with OCIMF and IMO relevant conventions in/outbound QP Ports under Ministerial Mandate
  • Champion of contracts and agreements between SERDAL QA System and international bodies (SERDAL data providers like IMT, OCIMF, CDI, PHAROX, IHSLloyds' Fairplay and RIGHTSHIP)
  • Responsible for Financial Authority and Controls and Invoice approval subject to table of Authorities (TOGA) as amended and approved from time to time by the board of Directors/General Assembly
  • Ensure the SERDAL vetting application is populated and refreshed with a number of external data sources required for screening evaluations

  • Responsible for processing approximately 2,400 screening requests per year using the SERDAL and RIGHTSHIP screening applications to ensure that every tank ship and certain dry cargo vessels meet all relevant international regulatory requirements and that the ship and its owner/manager has a solid track record
  • Review SERDAL group about 2,000 Lloyds casualty reports, evaluate approximately 120 Ship Owner Audits,1,000 Tanker Management and Self-Assessment reports and other data such as 16,000 SIRE VIQ's
  • Complete review of operator ratings on a quarterly basis in order to ensure latest ratings are captured, reflected and maintained
  • Review and close out incident of ships both within Qatari water or international water to verify non-recurrence
  • Develop and review vetting policies and procedures, monitor compliance and ensures consistency and equity in approach and that all vetting processes are conducted in an efficient and effective manner
  • Interfaces with all bodies relevant to SERDAL activities e.g. Director Shipping, IMT (as license holder for the SERDAL software), RIGHTSHIP On-line (Dry Bulk) Vetting Service provider, Tasweeq IT and Silversands (external specialist IT support), Ship Operators/Managers, 3rd Party Data providers (OCIMF, CDI, Lloyds-Fairplay) and Port users both producing and importing entities that are required to use the SERDAL approval system and Qatar Petroleum in its capacity as Ports and Terminal Operator/Regulator
