• Manages and closely monitor ship's marine activities/aspects for smooth activities at sea and port without delays and accident
• Ensuring vessel availability, performance, integrity and safety while providing quality customer service, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards with continues focus on continual improvement to maintain Excellence Vessel Integrity Management, Excellence in Health & Safety Management, Minimizing Environmental Impacts, Optimizing Costs etc

• Develop knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Department and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP's), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Shipping fleet in coordination with the Marine Personnel Department to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets
• Review and support establishment of a Risk Management System within the Shipping fleet, while identifying and assessing relevant domain risks and implement measures to manage and mitigate all identified risks
• Communicate corporate business ethics and Company's Code of Conduct to employees within the Department and ensure compliance to the Corporate Policies and guidelines
• Promote an organization culture that encourages innovation, enhances employee motivation and supports initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve the ship marine activities
• Recommend improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Department
• Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Department employees to meet HSE standards
• Prepared for and taken over new VLCCs and Long-Range oil tankers in compliance with Flag, Class and IMO regulations
• Headed workshops for sea staff presenting the preparation of vessels for third party inspections and navigation audits
• Leading Marine campaigns for ship staff and office staff on the development process and implementation of the new version of SIRE 2.0
• Prepared first ADNOC Tanker to call at USA and led other fleet tankers for successful COC and PSC
• Saved 1.6 M for ADNOC on negotiation of hoisting Flag of Liberia
• Managed comprehensive TRA for deep draught vessels transiting Malacca strait

• Operating a global vetting system called SERDAL under copyright of EXXONMOBIL Quality System customized for Qatar values and standards to screen Oil/Gas Carriers prior calling at Qatar Petroleum Ports
• Responsible through SERDAL Vetting System for the evaluation of the quality of tankers, Gas Carriers through TMSA, SIRE, CDI, PSC, VPR, Vessel history, Owner/Operator profiles, LIOYDS casualties and marine incidents verifying compliance with the international regulations and industry standards in line with OCIMF and IMO relevant conventions in/outbound QP Ports under Ministerial Mandate
• Champion of contracts and agreements between SERDAL QA System and international bodies (SERDAL data providers like IMT, OCIMF, CDI, PHAROX, IHSLloyds' Fairplay and RIGHTSHIP)
• Responsible for Financial Authority and Controls and Invoice approval subject to table of Authorities (TOGA) as amended and approved from time to time by the board of Directors/General Assembly
• Ensure the SERDAL vetting application is populated and refreshed with a number of external data sources required for screening evaluations
• Determine and plan, both short and long term, changes to improve the SERDAL system, ensure it continues to reflect the collective values of Tasweeq Ship Screening standards, Qatari Port Regulations and general responsiveness to industry standards and legislation
• Review and update all relevant Policies and Procedures, User Agreements and User Guidelines
• This includes a control catalogue to ensure that the proper process controls are in place
• Responsible for processing approximately 2,400 screening requests per year using the SERDAL and RIGHTSHIP screening applications to ensure that every tank ship and certain dry cargo vessels meet all relevant international regulatory requirements and that the ship and its owner/manager has a solid track record
• Review SERDAL group about 2,000 Lloyds casualty reports, evaluate approximately 120 Ship Owner Audits,1,000 Tanker Management and Self-Assessment reports and other data such as 16,000 SIRE VIQ's
• Complete review of operator ratings on a quarterly basis in order to ensure latest ratings are captured, reflected and maintained
• Review and close out incident of ships both within Qatari water or international water to verify non-recurrence
• Develop and review vetting policies and procedures, monitor compliance and ensures consistency and equity in approach and that all vetting processes are conducted in an efficient and effective manner
• Interfaces with all bodies relevant to SERDAL activities e.g. Director Shipping, IMT (as license holder for the SERDAL software), RIGHTSHIP On-line (Dry Bulk) Vetting Service provider, Tasweeq IT and Silversands (external specialist IT support), Ship Operators/Managers, 3rd Party Data providers (OCIMF, CDI, Lloyds-Fairplay) and Port users both producing and importing entities that are required to use the SERDAL approval system and Qatar Petroleum in its capacity as Ports and Terminal Operator/Regulator

• Port State Control Officer in Port of Mesaieed, Qatar Petroleum responsible for inspecting ship's compliance with IMO and international regulations of marine safety, health and environment protection
• Implementing of GCC and national Qatari law and regulations and QP policies for QP controlled port (Mesaieed)
• Carried out incident investigation
• Carried out in-house training in Oil and Gas safety for Mesaieed port staff
• Promoted in Qatar Petroleum to position of Port Regulations Officer since July 2011 till transferred to TASWEEQ in July 2012

• Took over the Marine Officer duties on board Tanker responsible for all operational aspects of navigation, safety, anti-pollution and ship management though out all ships’ ranking from Junior Officer promoted to Senior Officer and Captain Position
• Promoted from ship board management to head office taking the role and responsibilities as Safety Auditor
• Carried out marine safety training for company personnel in accordance with international standards of safety and environment
• Contributed in the company incident investigation room
