porting Hierarchy: Shift Charge Engineer

• Monitors operation, makes frequent visual inspections, checks for abnormal conditions and operates generating plant including all auxiliary equipment in a safe, reliable and efficient manner in accordance with industry standards, environmental restrictions, original equipment manufacturer's recommendations and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensures operation of generating plant equipment in a manner which will achieve optimum plant availability, reliability and efficiency, without compromising safety.
• Takes direction from Control Room Engineer concerning normal plant operations, start up's, shut down's and emergency situations.
• Operates all applicable plant systems and equipment which cannot be operated remotely through DCS controls.
• Isolates equipment for Lockout/Tag out as directed and may assist Shift Charge Engineer in preparation of Permits to Work.
• Analyze plant operating problems and take necessary steps to restore plant to normal operation or take recommended solutions to Control Room Engineer or Shift Charge Engineer as appropriate.
• Prepare routine daily, weekly and monthly reports as required
• Prepares routine monthly and weekly Equipment change over as required.
• Coordinates and cooperates with maintenance and engineering personnel for overall benefit of generating plant.

Reporting Hierarchy: Shift Charge Engineer

• Carries out Plant operations safely and efficiently in a professional manner, in accordance with prudent industry standards, environmental compliance, original equipment manufacturer’s recommendations and SAOM Standard Operating Procedures.
• Instructs and coordinates plant operations with Lead / Senior Field Operators, Field operators and shift chemist, to operate generating plant and auxiliary equipment.
• Direct with Lead / Senior Field Operators, Field operators and shift chemist to ensure operation of all equipment in a manner which will achieve optimum Plant availability, reliability and efficiency without compromising personnel and equipment safety.
• Operate DCS controls and other systems that are required to control all applicable plant systems during normal plant operations, startup, shut down and emergency operations.
• Assist Shift Engineer in preparation of Permits to Work as required.
• Start up and shut down of power generating plant equipment.
• Analyze plant operating problems and take necessary steps to restore plant to normal operation or take recommended solutions Shift Charge Engineer as appropriate.
• Writes routine daily entries in control room log.
• Assists Shift Charge Engineer to prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
• Provides on job training for Lead / Senior Field Operators and Field operators.
• Coordinates and cooperates with maintenance and engineering personnel for overall benefit of generating plant.

• Involved in shutdown and start-up operation of Hydrogen cooled generators.
• Monthly and Weekly Change over Equipment’s
• Experience in trouble shooting of plant / equipment during emergency trip conditions caused due to various factors.
• Experience in Major and Combustion Inspection
• Experience in offline and online water wash
