Head of Sciences:
· Monitor teachers from grades 2 to 11 in integrating effective lesson plans.
· Conduct classroom observations and provide supervision and evaluation of teachers.
· Regularly evaluate the teaching methodologies used within the department in order to identify best practice and areas for improvement.
· Schedule and organize departmental meetings in order to effect horizontal and vertical articulation of the instructional program at our school.
· Ensure the department remains an organised and stimulating environment for teaching and learning.
· Set clear expectations for staff regarding the expected standard of students’ achievement and the quality of teaching.
· Help staff to achieve constructive working relationships with students.
· Create and implement the yearly department development plan including identifying targets for improvements across the department.
· Use AMS, periodic and final exam results effectively to identify students who are underachieving in the subject and, where necessary, create and implement effective plans of action to support those students.
· Communicate with the Principal and academic quality controller (AQC) regularly about the needs, successes, and general operations of the department.
University Counselor:
· Create office hours to meet with students individually to discuss their application process/ career choice.
· Create career fairs at the school by inviting university representatives that students would be interested in attending their university.
· Collaborate with other SABIS® University Counselors to invite the same universities and possibility have a joint career fair with students of sister schools.
· Continuously look for training opportunities.
· Bring in professionals / alumni to talk to students about their careers and experience.
· Meet with AQC and update each student’s choice of curriculum (HSD; National High school Qualification; AP; IGCSE and A levels; French Baccalaureate).
· Help students create a list of universities they wish to apply to o Ask students to research deadlines and requirements that students need to work on for every university.
· Monitor students’ academic progress in school and for external exams in collaboration with AQC. Advise on course modification if necessary.
· Teach science, chemistry and biology for grades 8,9 10 and 11, following the SABIS POINT SYSTEM. Plan and implement lab-based science lessons based on school standards.
· Encourage students to become independent learners and thinkers.
· Support students to pass their AMS, periodic and Final exams successfully.
· Maintain classroom management conductive to development.
· Prepare students to join top universities.
· Prepare full special classes for students who are academically behind.
· Train the students to use The ILS (integrated Learning system software) and monitor their answers and take corrective actions as necessary.
· Taught science in all its domains for five sections.
Evaluated and revised lesson plans and course content to achieve student-centered learning.

· Worked with parallel teachers in integrating effective lesson plans.
