• Creating floor plans for homes and offices, using computer software such as AutoCAD or SketchUp or 3DSMAX
• Taking measurements of rooms to ensure that furniture fits properly
• Creating renderings of room designs using computer programs, such as Photoshop and 3D modeling software
• Assisting senior designers with projects such as designing home interiors, remodeling existing homes, and planning construction on new homes
• Preparing scale drawings of architectural details such as cabinetry, countertops, flooring, fireplaces, staircases, and windows
• Conducting client consultations with architects or interior designers about design concepts
• Planning room layouts for residential or commercial spaces
• Presenting finished designs to clients for approval
• Creating detailed sketches of room layouts or other designs using pencil and paper or computer software such as AutoCAD or SketchUp or 3DSMAX

Create sketches, templates, or models to guide their work. Select which materials to use on the basis of color, texture, strength, and other criteria. Shape, join, or cut materials for a final product. Use visual techniques, such as composition, color, space, and perspective, to produce desired artistic effects.

Create or reproduce hand-made objects for sale and exhibition using a variety of techniques, such as Paper crafting, Wall Painting, pottery, and needlecraft.

• Attend craft shows.
• Set up exhibitions and promote using media, print, and other PR methods.
• Search out different venues to display and sell products.

• Fabricate patterns and templates to aid in design.
• Cut, shape, fit, join, mold, or otherwise process materials, using hand tools, power tools, and/or machinery.
• Set specifications for materials, dimensions, and finishes.
• Use computer software to create designs.
• Create prototypes of models.
• Invoice customers for sold products.
