- Ensuring effective communication with all the stakeholders of the school community.

- Leading effective professional development sessions for KS2 teachers.

- Conducting workshops for parents. For eg: coffee mornings, assessment during distance learning webinar, English in KS2 workshop.

- Leading the English team and ensuring effective distribution of leadership, empowering the team to take responsibility for the subject in their year groups.

- Celebrating the subject through events and competitions to help learners develop a love for the subject. For eg: Emirates Literature Festival, monthly inter-school poetry slam, English students’ club, World Book Week, Winter reading competition.

- Implementing effective assessments processes across KS, Eg: introduction of writing assessment tool, PM benchmarks, digitizing assessments for distance learning, phonics screening for Y3 to identify gaps after DL.

- Written the departmental SEF for English in phase 2.

Represented English in KS2 during inspections, taking full accountability of progress and attainment.

- Planning and delivering quality lessons.

- Improving progress and attainment of the learners across all disciplines.

- Implementing effective strategies to ensure progress is being made by majority of the students during all lessons. For eg: questioning. AfL techniques, retrieval strategies to mark the starting point etc.

- Effective use of class data to adapt lessons to suit learners’ needs, including effective use data derived during progress checks within that lesson and previous lesson.

- Providing constructive feedback to allow learners to set meaningful goals and develop further.

- Effective teaching of the PYP essential elements, through UOI, Maths and Language.

- Adopting a transdisciplinary and an inquiry-based approach.

- Providing scaffolded learning experiences to enable learners to take meaningful action.

- Leading the PYP exhibition by involving other PYP teachers to be mentors.
