CFO responsible for overall finance strategy of the digital vertical - ~$200M business - part of a global diversified conglomerate. Responsibility extends to oversight for legal and company secretarial as well as tax. Global Accountability for the strategic Financial Management & Financial Operations of the division.
  • Built the finance organization and set up the control environment from scratch.

  • Unlocked circa $30M in additional financing (Debt + Equity);for i.Start up of bottling plant in Kenya negotiated with 3rd parties paving way to commencement of operations ii.Recapitalization and debt to equity conversion in Kenya and Nigeria achieving balance sheet restructure,realising a liquidity reprieve for the business units which unlocked rapid investment allowing headroom for growth, as well as restoring compliance to thin cap regulations.
  • Defined a risk topography for the region based on key thematic areas with severity of impact and probability of occurrence which helped the region map out, identify, monitor and mitigate existential and emerging risks. Moreover, I helped inculcate a strong control environment and high-risk awareness across the region through continuous spot audits and coordinated issue remediation efforts by affiliates as evidenced by resulting favourable internal audit reports while addressing old and legacy audit findings achieving >90% resolution and closure.
