A 365-bed government hospital in tertiary level that was JCIA accredited and OSHA Compliant. The hospital has a Psychiatry/ Drug dependency Unit equipped with ECT, MRI, CT scan and state of the art laboratory to address the needs of patients.

I am assigned to the 30-bed capacity Psychiatry/ Drug dependency Unit.
My tasks include but are not limited to Admission and discharging of patients. I dispense oral and parenteral medications with Drug reconciliation. I am trained
To do de-escalation and apply chemical and mechanical restraints. I take care of patients with Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorders, Personality disorders, Anxiety and depression, Drug dependents with or without psychosis and withdrawal symptoms, Post-traumatic Stress Disease and suicidal patients are commonly addressed. I use computer charting with CERNER and dispense medications using PYXIS.

A Multi-specialty Clinic that was JCIA accredited and caters to patients with Surgical, Medical, Nutritional and Psychiatric needs.

As one of the Clinic Nurses, I took patients’ history and vital signs and recorded them in the computer system with strict confidentiality. I assisted the Physicians in examining the patients and carried out their orders. I did blood extractions and coordinated with the laboratory team. Drug administration of oral and parenteral medications with regular patient monitoring was my responsibility, The following equipment was handled with expertise on daily basis: Pulse oximeter, Blood pressure monitor, Glucose meter, EKG and Minor surgical instruments

As the Unit in charge, I oversee and teamed up with Nurses to take care of patients with Neurologic, Cardiovascular, and Hormonal problems like Diabetes Mellitus and Thyroid mass. Common surgical cases were Appendicitis, Pancreatitis, Cholecystitis/ Cholelithiasis, Renal calculi, Breast and Inguinal mass, Hip and femur fractures, Burns etc.
