Summary

Specialist Pediatrician, Arab Board & MRCPCH certified.

Gained decision- making skills in outpatient, ward and emergency room based settings. Confident in basic procedural capabilities for pediatric & neonatal age groups (including exposure to intubations, central and arterial line insertions, umbilical catheterizations, lumbar punctures, arterial blood gas acquisition, urinary catheter insertion). I am PALS & BLS recertified in 2023. Research and case report publications are among my keen interests as a physician, I have published a total of 13 papers in recognized journals- of which one is my independent research conducted in Latifa Women & Children Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to my core mandatory rotations, I have spent my electives in neonatal and pediatric intensive care settings. These months have been key in shaping my patient approach, in particular identifying a "sick" child. I have participated in resuscitation codes as both the airway & chest compressions manager. During my NICU rotation, I have managed neonates immediately after birth for basic care and inserted umbilical lines several times under supervision. An added passion I hold is pediatric genetics/ metabolic diseases, where I had spent an additional elective and gained a good understanding of metabolic emergency management & acutely dealing with abnormal neonatal screening results. Teaching and learning are my passion, I have presented several topics throughout my training program & also held a role in the resident's academic day program scientific committee.
