Construction Project Handled:

Project: Etihad Railway Stage2 ( Project Value - 123 Million AED) – CSSK JV

  • Managed daily fleet operation of 400+ heavy equipments and machinery
  • Generated timesheets and machinery diesel consumption reports on a regular
  • Supervised the issuance of purchase orders, tracking and monitoring deliveries till final destination
  • Managed and in charge of the project store with a team of 5 other colleagues
  • Closely worked with the workshop/garage team to ensure quick sourcing of spare parts, repairing and/or replacement of machinery to reduce and/or eliminate downtime
  • Ensured smooth day to day operations between the project, and internal departments in order to meet client and project KPIs
  • Managed harmoniously over 500 multicultural staff and laborers, heavy equipment drivers and duty attendance
  • Managed project petty cash to ensure day to day activities do not come to a halt
  • Coordinating with HR for any administrative requirements and for resolving issues between management and project employees where necessary
  • Advised project director and project managers on operational strategies related to materials, machinery and employees while recommending areas of improvement


In this role, I was able to successfully manage an entire project’s supply chain logistics operations. Since I was the liaison/focal point between the client, sub-contractors, suppliers and internal departments, I was able to ensue 100% on-time project procurement deliverables, hence helping meet project timelines and savings target. While in this role I also obtained other trainings that would be beneficial for day to day activities such as emergency first aid at work (hand-only CPR) and basic fire safety

This role was crucial in helping me learn the importance of employee satisfaction while being mindful of project timeline sensitivity. The highlight of my stay at Al Sahraa was to be able to manage such a critical project from start to finish and handing it over successfully to the client on time with profits.

Since this role was under the procurement department, I was able to get hands on experience on how to efficiently navigate procurement process. I learnt the different principles that govern procurement professionals in order to source the correct items, in a timely manner and ethically. I learnt how to deal with local and international suppliers and shipments. Last but not least, I learnt how critical time is for the construction industry and procurement at large.

In this role, I learnt about the global cooperate world from the logistics industry point of view. I also learnt how to apply incoterms. Having been on-boarded for a critical on-going project at its peak, I importantly learnt what is required to meet customer promises/ commitments to achieve organizational KPIs.It was an honor to receive the Problem Solvers Award 2017 during my stay at DHL.
