Ø Associate the diagnosis codes to the appropriate procedure codes (CPT ) and sequence the codes in such a way as to ensure proper reimbursement.

Ø Thoroughly review all medical charts in an effort to ensure that all information is accurate.

Ø Accurately identify all the diagnoses and assign the principal diagnosis, secondary diagnosis, admit diagnosis, and correctly assigned E & M levels.

Ø Effectively conduct medical record reviews of the coding and documentation of diagnosis and surgical procedures to ensure the appropriate coding of the visit.

Ø Primary responsibility is to code medical charts for Outpatient Clinics through the understanding of medical terminology, AMA guidelines, anatomy, physiology and procedures and assigning the appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS codes .

Ø Good ability in analyzing the E&M (OP) charts.

Ø Maintaining the confidentiality of patient information and abiding by the standards of clinical coding guidelines and HIPAA rules.
