Summary

Elsa is a dedicated Biology teacher with 15 years’ experience in teaching Grade 5 to 12. With a bachelor’s in education with Further Education and Training BedFET she is well equipped to teach Life Science in South Africa. She has been in the United Arab Emirates from 2017 to this day. Using LMS in daily teaching helped with the transition to online teaching using apps such as: Google classroom, Google suit, INaturalist, Microsoft Teams, Alef learning platform, Fusion, Orion, Power School, Sims.

Elsa took part in research with her students by doing extracurricular activities such as Recycling at High school Westonaria 2007-2016. Excursions with students to University of Johannesburg every Wednesday. (South Africa). Excursions to do Environmental Science in the field (Magaliesburg). Excursions to Maropeng.

Elsa started an environmental club called the Eco geckos at Westonaria High School. During this time the Eco gecko’s won second place in the youth symposium for the best oral presentation 10 July 2019. The Eco Gecko’s received a third price from the Gauteng Education Department for Bontle Ke Botle where students improve the school grounds by planting plants, trees, and flowers as well as the recycling program in which they returned R2000 per year from selling paper and boxes from the recycle bin.

Elsa is a dedicated person that belief in live long learning proven by continuing to do different courses when she moved to the United Arab Emirates.

Elsa Received a Certificate of Appreciation in 2018/2019. Certificate of appreciation, for providing best practices for the academic year 2019-2020 from the Ministry of Education Abu Dhabi.
