Capstone Project: Waste-to-Energy Feasibility Study – Ras Al Khaimah & Fujairah
Conducted a comprehensive feasibility study on implementing Waste-to-Energy (WtE) facilities in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah to improve sustainable waste management and energy production. Analyzed municipal solid waste generation, energy recovery technologies (incineration, anaerobic digestion, gasification), and their environmental, economic, and social impacts. Performed detailed financial assessments (NPV, IRR) to evaluate project viability. Concluded anaerobic digestion as the most financially and environmentally beneficial solution, aligning with UAE’s sustainability goals.
Completed hands-on training across multiple departments, including Supply Chain, Quality, Health & Safety, Production, Warehouse, Logistics, Planning, and Injection Molding. Gained experience using Oracle ERP for inventory control, procurement, and production planning. Participated in preventive maintenance tasks, quality inspections, safety audits, and operational planning. Contributed to waste management efforts and process optimization to support efficiency and sustainability across production areas.
Supported administrative tasks and digital coordination during a remote internship. Gained exposure to public sector processes and virtual collaboration tools.
