- Emergency Medical Technician – Defibrillation (EMT-D)
- Carry out scene surveys to access, egress and the first stage of patient assessment.
- Carry out the Primary and Secondary Survey of patients with the view of arriving at a professional diagnosis.
- Based upon the provision diagnosis, accurately define the transport priority of patients and formulae a priority-based treatment plan.
- Establish and maintain an open airway using basic methods and provide adequate pulmonary ventilation.
- Perform a high-level competence, Basic Life Support (BLS) Adult, Child and Infant.
- Deal with partial and complete airway obstruction in the Adult, Child and Infant.
- Control external hemorrhage.
- Manage poisoning cases.
- Manage multiple casualty incidents.
- Dress and bandage wounds and other soft tissue injuries.
- Splint/Immobilize fractures of all types.
- Carry out emergency deliveries of babies and care of both mother and baby.
- Treat Obstetric emergencies.
- Treat Medical emergencies.
- Treat Traumatic emergencies.
