I have been working with KPMG’s Assurance department as Assistant Manager Auditor Assurance since December 2023. I am currently managing a largest exploration and development company of Pakistan, listed on both Pakistan and London stock exchange. As an Assistant Manager, I am primarily responsible for:

• Performing risk assessment, executing audits, and quality reviews to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and operational processes
• Evaluating client’s financial models and reporting for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines
• Collaborating with internal teams (Advisory, Risk/IT and Tax) and external stakeholders (equity partners) to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks
• Act as a leader and mentor for our people by consistently reinforcing and integrating KPMG values into the way work is done and guiding them through business-specific risks
• Identifying areas requiring improvement in the clients’ business processes and possible recommendations and preparing draft management letter for the review of partner
• Enhancing audit efficiency by streamlining processes and implementing automation tools.
• Staying up to date with industry developments, change in auditing and financial reporting standards
• Preparing detailed reports highlighting key findings from audits, presenting them to senior management for review and action.
• Developing strong relationships with clients, fostering trust and collaboration throughout the audit process.
• Conducting regular training sessions for audit staff, increasing their knowledge and skillset in the field.

I worked as an Audit Senior for more than 3 years at Ernst & Young. During my experience as an auditor, I have worked on audits of different clients from big multinational companies to small and medium-sized companies. I have been a team leader on more than 5 assignments. My essential responsibilities as a senior auditor include:

• Engagement planning based on the understanding of the entity and assessment of business and audit risks
• Risk assessment analysis and development of audit tests aimed at reducing audit risks, execution and completion of various audit assignments
• Managing multiple engagements simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet client deadlines consistently.
• Reviewing management & statutory accounts and drafting audit reports and cover letters
• Leading fieldwork and completing jobs within set deadlines without compromising quality of works
• Providing guidance to junior auditors on best practices, fostering a collaborative working environment and enhancing team performance
• Strengthening internal controls by evaluating the effectiveness of existing policies and recommending improvements where necessary.
