Surgical pathology job details:

• Grossing of tissue according to the types of specimen for which non-pathologist are permitted for gross examination with the supervision and evaluated on regular and periodic basis by the pathologist.
• Prepared histological slides containing human tissue sections by processing, embedding, cutting, mounting and staining.
• Implemented procedures necessary for routine H & E slides, special stains and other technical procedures
• Accurately prepared slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis with minimal requests for reprocessing, re-cutting or re-staining.
• Embedded tissue correctly within timeframes prescribed by the department.
• Processed specimen accessioning to include all manual and computerized entry.
• Evaluated the adequacy of stains and chemicals for the use and adjusted accordingly
• Maintained records to demonstrate that proficiency testing samples were tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Prepare section for immediate examination, using frozen section technique to freeze, out, mount and stain tissue specimen received from surgery in acceptable turn –around time.

Cytopathology job derails

• Assist the pathologist or radiologist (ultrasound guided) for FNA procedure
• Prepare conventional smears, cytocentrifugation and cellblock
• Process Gyn and non-Gyn fluids by using Liquid base cytology machine and screen them
• Stains routine PAP, HE, and Diff-kwik, mount and label cytology slides

Quality management function

• Prepare and stablish the policies and SOPs of anatomic pathology by following the guidelines and standers of CAP,ISO and JCI.
• Set up new machines, calibrate, Validate, function
• Monitor and manage inventory of chemicals, reagents, consumables and other supplied needed in anatomic pathology
• Maintains specimen retention and archived (wet tissu,Frozen tissue,Paraffin blocks,Slides) includes filling of them
• Prepare monthly and annual statistic of anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology, positive and unsatisfactory Gyne slides
• Supervise, trained and evaluate MLT students.
