Work history

Senior Design Project

Thesis Titled "e-Methanol"
09.2023 - 06.2024
  • Developed a sophisticated process flow diagram using ASPEN HYSYS program to simulate a highly efficient and sustainable process plant capable of producing over 1,000 tons of e-methanol of high purity to substitute conventional methanol.
  • Utilized water and waste carbon dioxide sources using innovative technologies within a closed-loop system to reduce environmental footprint and greenhouse gas emissions, in line with goals put up by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
  • Aimed to contribute to the circular economy by converting waste carbon dioxide into a valuable product.
  • Employed electrolysis of pure water to induce green hydrogen.
  • Conducted an economic analysis using CapCost to extrapolate the cost of components such as equipment and utilities, cost of manufacturing, as well as performed cash flow analysis through Monte Carlo Simulation to predict possible project outcomes.
  • Conducted a thorough Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) and Hazard (HAZAN) analysis in line with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to mitigate hazards associated with the chemicals involved in the production process.
  • Supported process decisions through extensive literature review to determine optimal feedstock and conversion technologies.

Engineer (Intern)

Al Masaood Oil Industry Supplies & Services Co.
Musaffah, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
06.2023 - 07.2023
  • Completed intensive training on quality, health, safety and emergency response protocols, including breathing apparatus certification.
  • Toured the company’s service center which deals with the assembly and shipment of new air-loop parcels to its clients.
  • Gained hands-on experience with calibration of personal gas monitors, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) detectors, and sampling pumps to reinforce workplace safety standards.
  • Investigated various methods for utility and tube inspection, including radiography and ultrasonic testing.
  • Computed hypothetical corrosion rates for various metal samples through arithmetic.
  • Performed chemical and mechanical techniques to purify and cleanse corrosion coupons.
  • Established support services and sales contract frameworks, aligning with company standards for client service and compliance.
  • Signified the limitations of Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) on each department’s liability in the company.
  • Collaborated with members from ENERPAC to gain exposure on the role of its sole distributor of hydraulic products in the UAE.
  • Explored different strategies involved in drilling applications and wellbore pressure controls.
