Presently, I am working as a Senior Auditor (Audit Senior 1) at EY Karachi in Audit and Accounting Services for Non-Financial clients.

At EY, I am responsible for applying ISA(s) and IFRS(s) in the light of EY Global Audit Methodology auditing techniques from designing preliminary risk assessment procedures, scoping, devising audit strategy memorandum, setting extent of and executing controls testing approach, and execution of substantive testing through to finalizing the audit engagement and carrying out other auditing related services. Overview of my routine responsibilities include:

• Leading audit engagements, overseeing a team of professionals to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial statements and internal controls assessments.
• Conducting risk assessments and developed comprehensive audit plans, identifying potential areas of concern and implementing effective strategies to mitigate risks
• Responsible for managing field work of audit engagements, including management of day-to-day client relationships;
• Taking accountability for researching and understanding key facts on the client’s industry information before the engagement begins
• Communicating with the Manager and Partner in a timely manner with respect to engagement progress – risks, issues, variances from plan in terms of time, budget, etc.
• Planning and delivering a range of audit related services outside traditional auditing engagements.
• Reviewing and assisting client in preparation of Financial Statements in accordance with the financial reporting framework as applicable comprising compliance with IFRS, Corporate laws, and directives from regulators.
• Identification and communication of weaknesses in internal control, with appropriate recommendations, to those charged with governance and conducting follow-ups of significant recommendations to ascertain whether improvement actions have been implemented.
• Taking full ownership of external file completion including deliverables
• Developing new ways of working through innovation (use of data analytics) and transformation with focus on efficiency in time and resource management.
