Rejoined this clinic in the busy Motor City area of Dubai

I still travel to and from Dubai to continue seeing my patients who have been coming to this clinic since its inception in 2019.

However since I relocated back to NI in 2020 I’ve now decided to make Belfast my permanent base and to carry on my career

here.

• Delivered high-quality dental care in this busy clinic.

I joined this clinic to broaden my knowledge. I worked with a team of specialists including orthodontists, implantologists placing ceramic implants, endodontist using microscope, digital scanners and Cerec systems. The clinic uses R4 software. The team regularly hosts seminars. Dr David and I started a 'Dental Help' Whatsapp group where 90+ dentists based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi share ideas and problems. The practice has also introduced a 'Biological Dentistry' protocol designed to safely remove heavy metals and toxic products from the mouth.

I worked part time in this busy private practice. I very much enjoyed the standard of patient care I was able to deliver in this well-run clinic, and I’ve maintained a good relationship with the management. I’ve carried out locum work for them when needed.

In 2014 I was approached by a group of investors and invited to help them start a new clinic in the Motor City area of Dubai, UAE. We opened our doors in February of 2015 and as the lead dentist I was responsible for the care of the first patients. Since that time the clinic has received more than 7,500 registered patients. We employed several specialists and general dentists as well as auxiliary staff and alongside my clinical work I was responsible for their well being and work satisfaction as the liaison officer between staff and management.

I worked alongside medical practitioners in a large family practice serving the local community. I provided most types of treatment, routine fillings, hygiene, endodontics and minor surgery.

I provided dental care to the local and expatriate population of the Jumeirah area in the rapidly-growing city of Dubai.

• I provided routine dental care to a high standard as demanded in this competitive market. Treated both expatriate and local patients including members of the ruling family.

• Delivered high level of support, service and care to hospital based dental practice that averaged 50 patients per day. Also managed on call duties and looked after both in patients and out patients. Treated VIP patients.

Worked part time in this busy, mostly NHS practice.

I had two roles at the dental school. I worked one session in the ‘Medically at Risk' unit, providing routine dentistry to patients with, for example, haemophilia, blood borne diseases and hospital in-patients.

I also supervised final year students preparing them for general practice after graduation.

My first job after graduation was in this busy family practice. I dealt with all aspects of routine dental treatment alongside the 3 partners, 3 associates and hygienist. Mainly NHS work with some limited private work.
