  • Managed approximately 650 nursing staff with a total pay budget of £59m across 7 surgical wards, pre-assessment ward and clinic, two Critical Care units, 11 theatres, Critical Care outreach service, day surgery unit, eye treatment centre and eye casualty, urology diagnostic centre, pain service, trauma and orthopaedics, urology, colorectal, pain, lung, ENT, and Head & Neck services.
  • Ensured safe and effective operation of nursing services across multiple departments.
  • This requires analysing staffing information and making judgements on safe deployment; performance information and providing structure for the team to deliver improvements in performance for both quality and efficiency metrics.
  • Monitored complaints, incidents, and risk register to ensure compliance, facilitating staff learning and departmental improvements.
