- Receive the Job Instructions from the QC department,
- Study the Job Instructions (JI) of the customers products.
- Prepare the right materials for the job (ie size of abrasive, the air PSI and the right PPE for my safety.
- Operated the blasting machine both robots and manual to remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from surfaces
- Check the anchor profile of the blasted surface with a spring loaded micrometer and test tape then making sure it complies with NACE1 SOP as stated in the Job Instruction.
- Check the metal salt level, dew point and temperature for proper coating conditions.
- Choose the right prime product then mix the prime paint.
- Check the viscosity and temperature of the prime paint.
- Operates the Prime machine robot or manual spray gun to apply suitable prime for the surface before coating application.
- Make documentation of the blasting and prime activities.
