Dynamic and impact-driven educational leader with extensive experience in international school leadership, school improvement, and organisational growth. Currently leading the day-to-day operations of a large, high-performing school and coaching an ambitious Senior Leadership Team through a developmental and people-centred leadership approach. Recognised as a specialist in school improvement, with a proven track record of securing outstanding external examination outcomes year-on-year and driving sustained improvements in teaching, learning, pastoral care, and whole-school standards. As Founding Head of Secondary, successfully introduced A Levels and expanded the school from 300 students to nearly 2,500 pupils, while establishing a culture of high expectations, instructional coaching, staff development, and academic excellence across the school community.
Equivalent to a School Principal (VP under the GEMS system) I lead the strategic and day to day operations of a large all-through school, ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality education through strong systems, efficient staff deployment, and organisational excellence. I directly line manage the Heads of Primary and Secondary, Head of Children’s Services, and Head of MOE, driving performance through rigorous accountability, ambitious target-setting, budget oversight, and the implementation of impactful school improvement strategies.
I also serve as a Cluster Lead for GEMS Internal Reviews, providing strategic guidance to schools in preparation for inspection, including KHDA readiness. In this capacity, I design and deliver Teaching and Learning conferences across the cluster for Early Career Teachers, Middle Leaders, and Senior Leaders, with a clear focus on raising standards, strengthening instructional leadership, and aligning practice with inspection frameworks.
A key achievement has been leading significant whole-school growth and reputation building. Since joining, student enrolment has increased from approximately 300 to over 2,500, with the school now operating at full capacity. This sustained growth has been driven by a clear strategy centred on strong academic outcomes, high-quality pastoral care, and building trust with parents and the wider community—firmly positioning the school as a leading choice for families in the region.
I have consistently delivered outstanding external examination results at IGCSE and A Level, with student outcomes outperforming the majority of UK schools year on year. This success is underpinned by a relentless focus on staff development through instructional coaching, clear pedagogical frameworks, and targeted guidance, ensuring high-quality teaching is embedded across all subjects and key stages, leading to sustained academic excellence.
Beyond my own school, I serve on the board of the Sharjah Private Education Authority Twin School Project, driving collaboration across schools in Sharjah. This work is focused on sharing best practice, strengthening professional networks, and enabling schools to work collectively towards sustained improvement and excellence. As a direct result of this initiative, over 90% of participating schools have improved by at least one inspection grade, demonstrating significant system-wide impact.
Led the strategic development of Teaching and Learning, including curriculum design and implementation across phases, ensuring alignment with high academic standards and regulatory expectations. Established robust quality assurance and review systems to enable accurate monitoring of teaching performance, student progress, and whole-school improvement priorities.
Demonstrated effective leadership in managing staff relations, resolving conflicts professionally and promptly through clear communication, sound judgement, and solution-focused approaches that strengthened team cohesion. Ensured full compliance with local authority requirements and national operational frameworks, maintaining strong governance and accountability structures.
Monitored quality standards consistently across the school and implemented targeted improvement actions where required, resulting in sustained enhancements in teaching practice and student outcomes. Regularly deputised for the Headteacher, providing confident strategic and operational leadership to ensure continuity, stability, and high performance across all aspects of school life.
As a former professional rugby player, I have experienced first-hand the transformative impact that sport, coaching, and teamwork can have on individuals and organisations. Having represented my country on numerous occasions, including at World Cup level, I understand the values of resilience, discipline, high performance, and collective accountability. I strongly believe that the intrinsic skills developed through sport — leadership, adaptability, communication, and perseverance — directly translate into educational leadership and organisational success. Alongside my educational leadership career, I founded and developed the Sharjah Games initiative, engaging 128 schools across Sharjah in multiple sporting disciplines. The programme has had a significant impact on the social, emotional, and physical wellbeing of thousands of young people, promoting inclusion, teamwork, healthy lifestyles, and community engagement across the emirate.
Outside of my professional life, I am a devoted family man with a wife and three daughters. As a family, we enjoy travelling and exploring new places together, embracing opportunities to experience different cultures, traditions, and ways of life. We are all passionate readers and value lifelong learning, particularly through discovering new languages, histories, and global perspectives, which further enrich both our personal and professional outlooks.
