• Coordinating and supervising all lifting activities accordance with the Lifting Plan.
• Briefing all lifting team members on the Lifting Plan, risk control measure and safe lifting procedure before the commencement of any lifting operation.
• The SWL of the lifting equipment and accessories is adequate for the weight of the load.
• All lifting accessories are clear.
• Correct and up-to-date copies of the Sling Chart and Safe Working Load tables are available, when using multi-leg slings.
• Ensuring that only registered crane operators, appointed riggers and appointed signalmen to participate in any lifting operation involving the use of mobile and tower cranes.
• Ensuring that the ground conditions are safe for any lifting operation to be performed by mobile cranes.
• Be present during all lifting operations.
• If unsafe conditions are reported to him, to take suitable measures to rectify the conditions so that the lifting operation can be conducted safely.
• All personnel involved in the lifting operation have been briefed and understand the risks, methods or work and the equipment to be used including emergency arrangements.
• All necessary precautions with regards to live overhead electric cables have been taken.
• The crane will be capable of lifting the required loads at the maximum required radius of operation.
• All work areas are adequately lift.
• The weight of each load is known, and that the correct lifting accessories are available.
• Check that there is a rescue plan in place and that it is acceptable in terms of practicality.
• Strictly follow Health & Safety guidelines set by their superiors at all times.
• To ensure work is executed in a safe manner and in accordance with instructions given to them by their superiors.
• Conducted regular equipment inspections for optimal performance.
• Demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in managing diverse teams.
• Ensured safety on site by strictly enforcing health and safety regulations.
