Editor-in-Chief, SemegaChange April 2022 - Present

• Lead author, editor, and publisher for the non-profit organization Semega Change, which works to elevate women of color in Science, Technology, Engineering Mathematics.
• I conducted over 15 interviews, meetings, and collaborations with clients for the organization.
• Wrote and edited over 12 articles for varying organizations centered around the client’s goals and successes such as MyAuntiJi and NYU Langone Tisch Hospital.

Service Ambassador, NYU Center for Student Life Sept. 2021 – Present

• Managed and led over 15 food drives for over 150 volunteers to support multiple families in the NY Metropolitan area.
• Promoted to Service Ambassador Coordinator for a service cohort centered on food insecurity and hunger in the New York Metropolitan area. Led four different events in Brooklyn and the Bronx focused on packaging and delivering food to the neighboring communities.
• Led multiple presentations on the importance of food-based community service events for NYU community members.

Student Leader, World Changer’s Mentorship Sept. 2022– Dec. 2022

• Educated and participated in activities with high school students in the Bronx every other Friday of the fall semester.
• Created comfortable and informative spaces to encourage students to apply to NYU and other colleges.

Billion Oyster Project, April 2022

* Planned and executed a service event for over 30 NYU students and community members to clean oysters and oceanic life on Governors Island. We cleaned over 700 oysters and learned about the history and contributions of oysters to NYC.

Food Bank NYC, November 2022

* Led service event with Food Bank NYC where we packaged over 2,000 meals for families in the Bronx with NYU students and community members in partnership with Food Bank. We then delivered these meals to varying areas of the Bronx such as Co-Op City and Hunts Point.

Member, Mu Delta Alpha (2022 - present)

• Joined the MDA (Muslim) Sorority where we attend events on professionalism and Islam in the workspace.
• Held multiple bake sales to provide financial assistance to the Sakina Home for Girls in Kenya (raised over $1k throughout the 2022-2023 academic year).
• Served as a volunteer and coordinator for five different mosques around the Manhattan borough during the month of Ramadan. We ordered and cooked different meals for Muslims who attended these mosques for the entirety of the month (2023).
• Planned volunteer events for the Ramadan Committee through the MDA as well as the Muslim Student Association on campus.

Member, Undergraduate Law Society (2022 - present)

• Attended meetings and events for prospective law students.
• Joined the Pre-Law Mentorship Program in 2022 where I was partnered with a prospective law student and we learned about the law school application process.
• Joined the LS Law Cooperative where I engaged and led discussions centered around different civil and criminal cases and how it pertains to our society such as the reversal of the Roe v. Wade Decision.
• Served as a jury member for a mock trial that took place in the NYU Law School (March 2023).
