•Performs equipment maintenance, calibrations, quality control, and document all corrective action measures when necessary.
•Performs and records routine preventive maintenance and instrument function checks on all equipment in the Hematology department
•Process patient sample specimen and perform compatibility testing. Immediately notify the Laboratory Pathologist, and attending Physician for abnormal or critical result.
•Comply with all other hospital policies such as infection control policy, waste management, emergency and evacuation procedure, and follow continuous medical training and education program.
• Operated analyzers such as Sysmex XT2000, Ortho BioVue system and Cobas 6000
•Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, and other body fluids in Chemistry, Serology, Clinical Microscopy, Blood Banking, Hematology and Microbiology
•Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using
microscopic techniques and procedures.
•Prepares blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by conducting blood group, type, and compatibility tests
•Ensures operation of analyzers and other laboratory equipment by
calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions;
calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories.
