A retrospective study of medical records of snakebites cases admitted over a four years period to three main hospitals .The majority of cases were males (87%), predominantly the bite sites were in the feet and hands or arms (95%) and bites mostly occurred during summer (61%). The main clinical features were pain, local swelling, coagulopathy, localized cellulitis, blistering and peeling of the skin. The overall outcome of snakebites of adults was generally benign. There were few major complications such as peeling of the skin, multi-organ failure and compartment syndrome. The mean hospitalization day was 2.7 (±2.9SD).

Camel urine has been used for decades as a medication for several ailments in the Middle East. Folklore medicine of the Middle East has shown that, camel urine has a beneficial effect in conditions such as liver cirrhosis. Camel urine was given as a drink daily to normal and treated rats for 4 weeks. Glucose tolerance test was performed at the end of the experiment. Immunohistochemistry was used to determine the percentage distribution of insulin and glucagon immunoreactive cells. H & E stain was used to access liver cirrhosis in control and urine-treated rats. The administration of camel urine significantly increased the number of insulin-positive cells in pancreatic islets. CCL4-treated rats did not have impaired glucose tolerance. CCL4 caused vacuolarization of hepatic cells. Rats treated with camel urine have improved hepatic morphology compared to untreated controls. The study shows that camel urine may contain bioactive agents capable of preventing CCL4-induced hepatic and pancreatic islet lesions.

Bilateral adrenalectomy (ADX) exhibited significantly greater incidence and severity of gastric ulcer after restraint-stress in a cold room and indomethacin or ethanol administration than intact control rats. The aggravation was markedly suppressed by the administration of glucocorticoids but not by mineralocorticoids, and no aggravation was observed when the adrenal medulla alone was removed. The parietal cells in the gastric mucosa of rats are directly regulated by glucocorticoids via its receptors. It is also reported that adrenalectomy increased the urinary acidification through Kidney H+/K+ ATPase but gastric H+/K+ is not documented.
4- PREVELENCE OF VITAMIN B12 DEFECIENCY IN WELL ADULT SCREENING VISIT IN PRIMARY CARE SETTING IN ABUDHABI- ALAIN.
Cross- sectional study. Vitamin B12 is very important water-soluble vitamin. It has a vital role in red blood cell formation, neurological function and DNA synthesis. Previously, vitamin B12 deficiency considered as a rare disease but easy to diagnose. Currently, the prevalence of vitamin B12 is increasing due to aging and other risk factors. Incidental finding of vitamin B12 deficiency is in increase amongst patients presenting to ambulatory health services (AHS). Prevalence of vitamin B12 deficiency was never reported from our region previously, so our aim in this study is to assess and estimate the prevalence of vitamin B12 insufficiency and deficiency.

5- Vitamin B12 deficiency risk factors: case- control study
case-control study. Screening is only recommended for high risk papulation and patients presenting with clinical manifestations of low vitamin B12. Its first study to be conducted in the region. The purpose of this study was to recognize the possible association between vitamin B12 deficiency and high-risk factors and chronic conditions. Moreover, to identify whether vitamin B12 level should be included in the adult screening program and if further strategies needed for prevention.
