Mohamed Khaleel

I was born in Louisiana, and raised in United Arab Emirates, planning to move to Columbus Ohio this summer. I am a Mechanical engineering graduated, experienced in designing, different types manufacturing, reverse engineering, photogrammetry, lean manufacturing, researching, with a strong background about airplanes and cars physics, structure, and functionality. Skilled and various engineering programs like CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, MATLAB, and ANSYS Fluent, and interested in expanding my skills and knowledge by enrolling in graduate program and successfully get masters degree. I am very passionate about mechanical & aerospace engineering specially when is comes to engines and propulsion systems. I always strive to develop and enhanced myself as a human being and an engineer. I think in terms of objectives and results, and I deeply enjoy challenges as it inspire me to think and adapt to my surroundings.

Research Assistantship April 2022 - Current

• Worked turbine cooling systems using direct impingement jets and oscillating fluid jets.
• Designed parts using CAD software, and manufactured them using CNC and other mechanical techniques.
• Designed and manufactured functional setups to perform experiments.
• Performed experiments and collected data.
• Worked with heat exchangers, air compressors, thermocouples, manual and digital flow controllers, hoses, pipes, and fittings.
• Requested and purchased needed equipment successfully.
• Optimized setups and solved problems continuously.

Developing Lean Assessment Software for Continuous Production Systems January 2023 - May 2023

• Researched Lean manufacturing and waste reduction methods.
• Analyze "time study" approach and Over All Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Constructed required algorithm (flow-chart) for the developed software.
• Developed a user-friendly and flexible software using C++ coding language that take observations and inputs from the user, and calculates the performance, quality, availability, and OEE in percentages and displays them for the user.
• Validated the software using case studies, optimized, and fixed problems when found.
• One conference paper will be published from the project.

Structural Development of a Solar Power Aircraft with Blended Wing Body Configuration September 2022 - May 2023

Graduation Project  United Arab Emirates University

• Did a whole research study about blended body wing configuration and performed comparison with convectional configuration.
• Studied the steps the structural development of UAV's and the required components.
• Employed quality of development (QFD), decision matrix, and CAD tools for development.
• Used SolidWorks for CAD development with Blended Wing Body (BWB) configuration.
• Used SolidWorks, and ANSYS Fluent to perform structural FEA on the developed design and generated deformation, stress, and strain analysis.
• Performed cost estimation.
• Utilized additive manufacturing technology and manufactured the whole airframe using 3D printers.
• Researched compatibility of the components with each other and purchased them successfully.
• Celebrated eclectic motor, servos, electric speed controller (ESC) into the batter and integrated them into the airframe.
• Connected solar panels into a Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) and integrated them between the batter and the load.

Quality Inspection Methods Development January 2022 - December 2022

• Was able to visualize and find the problems faces while using manual tools for parts quality inspection.
• researched photogrammetry technology and 3D scanners.
• Learnt reverse engineering and introduced it to the company.
• Researched about 3D scanners, robots companies, software, and learnt how they work.
• Was able to choose the best device that fits their needs and withing the budget (Arctec 3D spider) and used Control-X software for inspection.
• The company got the device, and implemented it into their quality inspection point successfully.
