  • Main responsibility as an SSR for IBM clients, building good relations with the customer technical staff and providing them with the needed support to address the problems they encounter with IBM products and mainly hardware related issues that includes troubleshooting, fixing, Upgrade and Microcode installation of IBM hardware Midrange and Mainframe computers (AS400 - RS6000 - ES9000) and fixing the associated I/Os to the high end computers (Tapes - Disks - line printers).
  • Member of the team that implemented the first storage solution in Egypt based on the IBM ESS (Shark), including installing the machine, configuring, connecting to HP servers and implementing copy services.
  • Account CE for the above project for the first year, maintaining the ESS and arranging between the customer demand from the machine and the action plans from the support center to achieve high availability of the machine.
  • Installing the Cairo Alex Stock Exchange project including top of the range p-series machines in a high availability solution.
  • This project included 3
  • 7017 S7A machines and 4
  • 7026 H80 machines.
  • Then acting as CE for the account for two years, with a main responsibility of maintaining the machines and arranging for the microcode updates and signing maintenance contracts of the machines.
  • Installing NOL project, the main ASP in Egypt including 1 ESS, 20 pseries machine and tape library.
  • Then acting as an account CE for this customer for 2 years.
  • Installing the first SAN solution in Egypt that included 8 SAN switches 2109, ESS, Tape library and 60 netfinity servers (Intel Based machines), then working closely with Microsoft to install the applications on the mentioned hardware.
  • Installing Sheikh Mohamed project in Al Azhar that included SP machine, optical library and tape library and top of the range scanner that was designed specially for this project and for this I had to go for training in IBM USA Watson lab.
