• Inspection of welding consumables and storage.
• Inspection of joint fit-ups.
• Monitoring and testing and / or approval of yards and sub-contracted welders.
• Identification of Metallurgical requirements of materials.
• Check and qualifies Welding Procedures in accordance with clients, classification Projects.
• Studies and verifies with Project rules the applicable documents.
• Review the projects specification, quality assurance procedure, quality manuals and method of statement.
• Refer the standards and international standards like AWS D 1.1, ASME SEC IX.
• Prepares and supervises welders training before welding procedure qualification (WPQ) tests.
• Arrange retesting of renewal of welders certificates, as and when required.
• Ensure implementation of quality assurance system procedures in all activities.
• Visual inspection of welds.
• Monitoring the weld parameters of different welding process (GMAW, SMAW, SAW) in accordance with WPS.
• Ensure welding parameters as per the approved procedures.
• Ensure welders are working qualified to the applicable WPS.
• Prepare summary reports for restoration of test package and submit to QC Manager.
• Support and coordinate with NDT activities.
• Preparing Welding Surveillance Report.
• Co-ordinate with construction and QC department.
• Check the material is properly stored, documented with test certificates prior to use.
