Worked in the HR sector as a Learning and Development Intern achieving multiple skills and completing multiple tasks. I wrote reports every week to the HOD’s of the hotel stating how the hotel has been managing and what reviews people have been giving the hotel.
I also had to collect names off the comments of the reports that I had completed every day for one of the ceremonies we have every few months which is called the Versace Stars Collection.
I had to collect all negative feedback which customers have mentioned about the hotel and type them up into an excel sheet.
The second job I had to do was give out Cross Training applications, evaluations and hotel policy forms for the employees that wanted to Cross-Train in different departments of the hotel.
Once the employees were done with their Cross-Training I created Certificates with their names, the sector they Cross-Trained in and how many hours they have completed then I signed it and gave it to them.
I also worked in the HR sector filing, accepting and rejecting employees’ CVs, as well as their termination contracts. I had to file them in the right order and by employee name and ID number.
Creating ID cards for the employees of the hotel was also one of my jobs at PVD, I learned how to use the Badge Maker App on the computer and created lots of ID cards for new employees entering the hotel, which consisted of their name, ID number, department, section, D.O.B, Nationality, D.O.J and applied their picture from the computer files.
I created posters and invitations for the Versace Stars Collection and designed it from scratch with all the details that were going to occur in that specific celebration. I also printed, cut, and placed them into frames and set those frames at the place of the celebration.
Every time there was a VSC celebration I would create, design and print my own sketch of the posters needed for the celebration and place them on walls all around the hotel.
I also participated by working in the In-Room-Dining section of the hotel, I took the food orders and sent them to the customers’ and the residence employees of the hotel. I also brought back the trolley (sometimes 2) back to the IRD kitchen and waited for new orders to take up again.
I had to respond to emails from HOD’s and employees; type up the timing, date, and place of where the meeting is happening. I then had to set up the tables and chairs as well as setting up the laptop and playing soft music for whenever the employees or HOD’s enter the meeting room. I would usually set up the tables and chairs a day or 2 before to save time.
I printed names through a small printing machine and placed it onto the name badge and gave it personally to the employee.
I introduced new ideas to my Boss to improve the hotels reputation and strategies in order to gain more customers and have more successful ceremonies.
