09.2004 - Current

  • Working in a 100 bedded multi-specialty corporate hospital wherein we cater to out-patient clinics, in-patient wards & ICU patients on a 1:7 on-call rota schedule
  • My out-patient work involves care of patients with general medicine problems, in particular diabetes (all types), thyroid disorders, PCOS, parathyroid disorders, osteoporosis, pituitary & adrenal disorders
  • I've also established the Vascular Lab, Diabetes Diagnostic Laboratory (VPT, temperature sensitometry, foot podomat etc) & Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (CGMS) protocol in my current hospital for comprehensive care of our Diabetic clients
  • In addition, I've been actively involved in management of patients with thrombophilic disorders
  • I also look after the GDM (Gestational Diabetes Mellitus) Clinic in my hospital (since 2012) with excellent outcomes. Incidence of fetal macrosomia is one of our KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) as part of the GDM clinic services
  • Over the last few years I've actively advocated for bench-marking of HbA1c as a KPI in Dept of Internal Medicine and as a result our A1c targets have improved from 58% to 67.4% across the department
  • I have been on the lecturing faculty of the University of Leicester (UK) & BMJ for their PG Diploma in Diabetes and also been involved in their tutor and mentoring programme
  • I was also the Head of the Emergency Dept (A&E) services at our hospital from 2007-2017. Since my Endocrine & GDM clinic work took precedence over the ED, I voluntarily relinquished the post of Head of ED in 2017.
  • I’ve also been actively involved in our hospital’s JCI accreditation (2010) & subsequent re-accreditation (2013, 2016, 2019 & 2022) process
