• Oversee the assessment and management of the reliability of the equipment for the P&T operations globally, that could impact the DP World business, customer service and safety of all the stakeholders.
• Management of the reliability policies, standards and best practices and provide direction and support on the standardization of all engineering programs and equipment specifications, monitor the equipment issues and recommend the necessary root causes analysis to be implemented to drive a continual improvement culture.
• Collaborate with business units and review all business requirements, Engineering KPI and recommend appropriate solutions for various equipment maintenance strategies, engineering department organizations, workshop setup, the optimization of the inventory stock and investment plans for the optimum life cycle management of their equipment fleet.
• Provide the necessary leadership to develop and sustain the required reliability culture in DP World, through various trainings and certification programs, reliability reports, conferences and round tables for the global reliability community.

• Development and management of the necessary Engineering policies, standards and best practices for the Global Engineering department to be implemented across all DP World business units.
• Conduct Engineering assessments for brown-fields and green-fields business units as necessary, in order to evaluate the compliance with the Global Engineering standards and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Provide direction and support to various programs of the Global Operations and Engineering department as necessary like the Lean, Reliability, Profit Improvement Team (PIT) and Asset Management.
• Provide support to BU in the evaluation of their requirements for expansion plans, budgets and capex always based on efficiency improvements.

This was a brownfield project acquired by DP World, then the mission was to setup the required standards for the Engineering department and provide a world class service to our customers. The man task for this role were:

• Provide direction to the Engineering department activities in line with the business needs.
• Present business cases with cost-benefit and return-on-investment estimations to drive project planning and execution.
• Development of the maintenance strategies for equipment and civil facilities.
• Organize the equipment and civil infrastructure documentation and operating procedures, strengthening budget controls and enhancing overall performance of the assets.
• Developed and provided technical solutions for day-to-day operations and long-range strategic planning.
• Development of the training programs for the Engineering employees.
• Management of all financial aspects of the department: opex, capex, inventory stock and the procurement of spare parts and services.

Head of Engineering of PPC to oversee the Engineering activities for the ports of Balboa and Cristobal, Panama.

• Responsible for the expansion plans related to the equipment and workshop facilities
• Budget control and execution based on business needs (approx. USD 10 million per year)
• Development of the maintenance strategies for the equipment fleet to support the terminal operations
• Ensure compliance of the related Engineering policies, standards and best practices in line with the HPH group
• Preparation of the monthly reports for the CEO and Senior Management team
• Coordination of the Engineering activities with the other departments
