  • GEMS Cambridge is a value- driven school in Sharjah that offers the National Curriculum for England and has an open policy of “education for all ”It is one of a kind of school in Sharjah which puts a strong focus on design thinking and problem solving within its curriculum.
  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct pre- admission assessments of prospective students to rule out students with additional needs in order to create a support network when they join school
  • Conduct assessments, using multiple diagnostic tools to determine student needs
  • These tools include online and paper-based tests designed to test basic skills
  • Placement of students as per SEND categorization protocols followed by the school
  • Plan Individualized Education plan and/ or Individualized accommodations plan for students identified
  • Provide training to the classroom teachers to deal with their SEND students
  • Guide and train teachers/ teaching assistant and provide strategies and resources for their SEND students
  • Guide and train Shadow teachers to carry-out their student’s IEP and to record and assess their progress
  • Train parents to deal with the academic/ behavioural challenges they face with their children/s
  • Lead parent meetings of SEND students
  • Carry-out professional development sessions with teaching assistants and shadow teachers on a regular basis
  • Assess and monitor shadow teacher’s performance with their respective student
  • Monitor and assess resources provided to the SEND students
  • Plan and implement individual as well as small group sessions with SEND and vulnerable students
  • Co-ordinate with external agencies for Psycho-educational assessments, various therapies for our students, as well as for conducting awareness programs with the staff/ parents
