Project Overview: Power & Steam Integration Project Abu Dhabi, UAE

  • This Project is Expansion of existing Power plant (3000 MW) to supply Power & Steam to the Alumina Refinery
  • This project includes many Brown field and Green fields works including conversion of Simple cycle Gas turbine (GE 9FA) to combined cycle by adding new HRSG, One new Gas turbine (GE 9FA) & HRSG and Integration of new Steam and Condensate Headers to Existing Headers
  • This Project also includes Condensate treatment center, RO & EDI Plants, Steam Pressure reducing and de superheating stations, Gas Pressure reducing skids
  • Responsible for PSI project (Power & Steam Integration- Al Taweelah Alumina Refinery) commissioning and leading the conversion of Simple Cycle to Combined Cycle unit in operation & controls with GE Mark Vie Control system
  • Preparing of Task Risk Assessment for every POV & Commissioning activities
  • Conducting Daily Internal O&M department meetings to Discuss about yesterday issues, Today activities and future plans for the commissioning plant.
  • Leading the daily meetings from Operation side with Construction and commissioning teams and sub-contractors.
  • Involved in HAZOP study (Hazardous Operation) for each Process
  • Preparation & proceeding of all T.O.C (Test of Completion) for each test on Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine & HRSG and producing the report to client
  • Excellent expertise in switching of High, Medium and Low voltage switch gears by HSBT [ABB & BECKWITH], Automatic transfer, Manual Hot transfer
  • Reviewing the documents like Functional Description, Operation Philosophy, Pre Operation Verification, Commissioning procedures, Reliability test, Performance test procedures.
  • Verify the vendor systems Control logics and giving comments prior to implement in GE Control system
  • Presenting papers on commissioning procedures, Plant, Controls System (Network Topology), Safety aspects in the workshop for commissioning team
  • Involved in Factory Acceptance Test for GE Mark Vie control system and witness the redundancy of Controllers, Switches, UDH, PDH, and MODBUS Communication interface of third party system with DCS through Modbus
  • Coordinating with GE Control TA for Cold Loop check, Hot Loop Check, Installation, Inspection, Networking, Power-up, software download, loop and functional verification of application logics & graphics
  • Participating in Customer Witness Test & High Fidelity Simulation test in GE premises for Power Management System, Steam Management System for the project
  • Preparing of all system Standard Operating Procedures as per ISO standard and instruction to the subordinates to follow and execute the systematic work for safe and smooth operation of the plant
  • Coordinating with EPC Commissioning Manager & GE TA for upcoming commissioning plan according to plant situation
