  • Primary responsible & accountable for the assigned vessels.
  • Manage the vessels to the highest safety standards in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in accordance with company SMS.
  • Ensured technical policies and procedures are consistently applied across assigned vessels.

  • Authorise selection process of senior officers for assigned vessels, build and maintain a professional and effective working relationship with senior ship colleagues to influence the development of strong safety culture.
  • Conduct frequent appraisals of senior officers so that the pool of officers can be evaluated and the best could be reemployed for the benefit of the entire fleet.
  • Responsible for PMS and ensured job description and maintenance intervals assigned to all machineries is as per maker's manual and record is maintained in ShipSure/DSM/SuperPal for all maintenance done onboard.
  • Monitor vessel performance trends including speed, consumption of Fuel oil and lubricating oil and take remedial actions when these go beyond accepted parameters.
  • Regular vessel inspections to gain thorough knowledge of the managed vessel.
  • Planning of dry-docking for the assigned vessels and ensuring all trading certificates and statutory requirements are met at all times.

Marine Chief Engineer

  • In-charge and responsible for all the shipboard machineries, plants, electrical systems, cargo handling equipment's and systems.
  • Evaluate deviations from norms and take measures to ensure operation of same, by familiarizing with the fundamental operating concepts of the deck and engine equipment's of the vessels.
  • Identify areas, which require immediate attention and take corrective actions, report to the Technical Manager.
  • Plan and control all operations, activities, maintenance connected with safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
  • Monitor vessel performance by ensuring minimal usage energy and utilities to ensure cost effective and sustainable engineering operation.
  • Supervised vessels safely and efficiently in accordance with international rules governing quality, health, safety and environment.
  • Ensure all classification and statutory survey status is maintained, all surveys are carried out within the due dates and that all trading certificates are valid.
  • Undertake technical inspections and report on vessels condition, performance and operational readiness raise the reports for any findings or non-conformities and suggest / execute the corrective action.
