Chief Accountant

  • Responsible for the general ledgers and consolidated reports of the Group
  • Preparation of the Group budget consisting of 12 companies and a total of 60 departments, covering Service Revenue, Sales, Cost of Sales, Operating Expenses, and Cost Centers
  • Responsible for the external audit and delegation of tasks to accountants in the Group on the requirements from the auditors
  • Overseeing a Senior Accountant for the ICV audit of 4 entities within the Group
  • Participation from Finance department in the tendering and pricing stage with Service departments
  • Handle monthly and quarterly entries of IFRS 16 related agreements and provision for slow-moving stocks
  • Preparing Management Assessment Working Paper for matters that involve change of estimates, like depreciation estimate for Plant & Machinery or provisions for slow-moving stocks
  • Negotiating with banks on facility structures or additional facilities, based on business requirements and market inclinations, like overdraft, capital financing for greenfield project
  • Liaising with the outsourced IT company's Project Manager on the ERP and managing the implementation of new modules and structures
  • Preparing ad-hoc reports for General Manager and board members, routing through the Regional Finance Manager, like receivables, sales performance reports, stock levels etc.
  • Responsible in hiring of new staff for all branches, as well as train them on the ERP and processes
  • Approvals of expense claims within their correct accounts before management's approval

  • Revenue management of Trading and Service departments
  • Leading a team of 4 accountants in UAE and 1 accountant in Pakistan, who handle the recording of revenue, posting of costs and related expenses
  • Handling and controlling of contracts of service departments with ADNOC and other clients, in terms of invoicing, guarantees, taxes etc.
  • Played a key role within the Finance during the migration from an accounting-based software to an open-sourced ERP
