My responsibilities in the current role include following:

• Preparing and reviewing standalone and consolidated financial statements in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local corporate laws and directives of regulatory authorities.
• Application of accounting knowledge to conclude on correct accounting treatment and disclosures with respect to high-risk areas and complex transactions including IFRS-17, IFRS-15, IFRS-16, IFRS-04, IFRS-09, IAS-40.
• Using financial analysis techniques including ratio analysis, budget vs. actual review and in-depth analysis of financial statements prior vs. current year.
• Involved in preparing and reviewing cashflow and profit and loss forecasts/budgets for clients taking into consideration reasonableness of assumptions and business changes expected in the following years.
• Understanding different business processes (procure to payment, sales to receivable, production & inventory management, insurance policy undertaking and endorsement process, claims processing, financial statement closing procedures, HR and others) to prepare documentation for client's business environment and risk assessment control matrix.
• Getting familiar with the accounting software used by client in order to obtain management and financial reports to be used for audit documentation.
• Leading fieldwork and managing team-based projects including budgeting for engagements, mentoring staff and reviewing their work, ensuring timely completion of engagement milestones and reporting to manager/director.
• Worked closely on implementation of IFRS-17 and transitioning from IFRS-04 including preparation of financial statement disclosures, initial assessment of insurance revenue recognition model (General measurement model, Premium allocation approach and Variable fee approach) and actuarial inputs and outputs assessment.

I supervised and led audits of multiple listed and non-listed entities including insurance and manufacturing companies during my tenure with KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co. and was also seconded to KPMG Riyadh for a period of 6 months.

• Building client relationships by continuous and effective communication, understanding and addressing their expectations and explaining mandatory requirements.
• Planning audit procedures to be performed after obtaining understanding of the company and its environment to identify high risk areas.
• Executing and documenting audit procedures as per International Auditing Standards (ISA) and firm's audit methodology.
• Testing the operating effectiveness of controls over operational and financial reporting processes to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements in internal controls.
