House of Shadows (Project & Competition)

Location: Arguayo, Santiago del Teide, Tenerife – Canary Islands, Spain Altitude: 922 m above sea level Area: 20 km²

Design Proposal – House of Shadows A reinterpretation of traditional Canary architecture with a modern sustainable approach, respecting context while introducing openness and light modulation.

The House of Shadows is designed to respond to light and climate — maximizing daylight while minimizing passive heat gain. Through the interplay of courtyards, balconies, and louvre systems , the house creates a balance of shelter and openness , drawing inspiration from Tenerife’s heritage architecture but reimagined for contemporary lifestyles .


Urban Development & Community Revitalization – Satwa, Dubai

As part of Dubai’s urban regeneration vision , the Satwa redevelopment project focused on creating a sustainable and community-oriented street network with improved livability, reduced environmental impact, and alignment with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan .

Achieved a measurable reduction in passive heat loads across the street alignment. Supported a framework for energy-efficient and climate-responsive urban development in one of Dubai’s most culturally significant neighborhoods. Showcased how sustainable design methods + digital tools (Rhino/Grasshopper) can reshape future urban planning strategies.


Hospital Retrofit Proposal(Confidential)

Role: Graduate Team Member – Sustainable Design & Building Optimization Focus: Energy Efficiency, Retrofit Strategy, Patient-Centric Sustainability

The competition challenged students to design retrofit solutions for an existing hospital in Dubai , addressing critical issues of energy consumption, occupant comfort, and operational sustainability . The goal was to align with Net Zero Carbon targets while ensuring a safe, resilient, and patient-friendly environment.

Key Achievements: Retrofit Strategy Development: Proposed a comprehensive retrofit plan incorporating passive and active design measures. Building Simulation: Used digital tools (e.g., Rhino/Grasshopper, climate analysis software) to evaluate solar gain, shading, and energy loads. HVAC Optimization: Suggested system upgrades that balanced energy efficiency with indoor air quality, critical for healthcare facilities. Passive Design Integration: Improved natural daylighting, reduced overheating risk, and optimized building envelope performance.
