Scope and Achievements

This is a pro-bono role. In a little over two years, the India Country Club was built from scratch to include the Denim Partner and 10 Directors forming the Country Advisory Council and 100 Eminent Members. As a team we organized two national summits, ran a year-long social media campaign, rolled out LinkedIn panel discussions and a successful podcast series.

Scope and Achievements

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration and directly accountable to the Partner Group and with a team of five, my responsibilities and deliverables were as follows:

Administration

• Robust engagement on project tenders and RFPs and ensuring thorough preparation and timely submission of proposals and reports

• Client portal scrutiny

• The corporate business travel process was reorganized and streamlined resulting in significant cost savings for the firm

• The office underwent a major renovation and subsequent relocation to a much larger, more functional and stylishly designed office, which was under my purview

Marketing

• Prequalifying with all identified potential clients with supporting compliance documents and introduction pack updated from time to time

• Maintaining the master client database for the dissemination of all IC and corporate communication

• Drafting press releases (often collaborating with the different Practice Teams) and communication to different stakeholders

• Responsible for client feedback, post project delivery

• Identifying conferences to showcase our experts, thought leadership and viewpoints, and all the connected groundwork

• Organizing events and workshops - internal (regional and global) and external

• Worked on the regional monthly newsletter which also featured alumni

• Iterations on the new look and feel of the website and updation of the same

• Deliberations on the brand building, positioning and identity exercise of the firm; and producing a book with the recommendations

• Proposed a brand name, logo and tagline; and presented the concept for the Institutional Transformation Program (regional)

• Composing (music & lyrics) and rendering (including singing and orchestrating) well-produced songs at the behest of and with a brief from the Global CEO for two of the Global Partners & Shareholders Meetings and the firm’s New Year Greeting in 2018 (global)

• Propagation of the firm’s posts on LinkedIn and Twitter, and review of analytics

• Discussions with PR firms

• Main point of contact for all marketing activities in the region

By bringing together alumni from all the IIMs, it has helped to create a critical mass of people who share similar professional backgrounds and interests. Set up in April 2008, it has grown into a vibrant group of over 800 alumni engaged in networking; organizing professional, social and cultural get-togethers; fund-raising and voluntary activities for organizations and individuals in need.

Achievements

During my tenure reporting to the President, the Pan IIM Alumni Network conducted the GCC Summit in 2014 and regular symposiums hosting eminent speakers from the region and overseas.

My role was the interface between the institute and the corporate world, and my responsibility included securing internships and final placements for the PGP students, promoting the PGPMX program in the corporate sector, student counseling for admissions, internships and placements, soliciting guest lectures from local industry experts and arranging corporate visits for the PGP students.

Although an experimental role in terms of their first overseas placement, I handed over a corporate database of about 300 contacts for the institute’s corporate network including internships, placements, industry visits and guest lectures.

Global Education Mission FZ LLC (GEM) was established in 2009 under the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA) Free Zone, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, with the objective of providing quality higher education in collaboration with prestigious institutions/ universities worldwide. GEM partnered with the high ranking and renowned Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore to offer its flagship program in management – Post Graduate Program (PGP) for graduates and Post Graduate Program for Management Executives (PGPMX) for working executives/ professionals, from the academic year 2011-12, where GEM provided infrastructure, logistics, administrative and marketing support to the program and the academics was fully regulated and controlled by IIM Indore.

Achievements

Championed the launch of both the PGP and PGPMX programs and ensured the smooth running of the same for two years. It was the first IIM campus to be established overseas. I had a team of seven and was reporting to the Managing Director who was based in India being the then Vice Chairman of Vinayaka Missions University.

Enhanced media and corporate relations, the advertising and branding activities, undertook the production of a world class corporate film and taught Business Communication in the B-School besides maintaining the university’s website and contributing to several micro and macro projects. Also coordinated between the Heads of Institutions and the Corporate Office/ Vice Chairman (present Chancellor) of the University.

Achievements

My entrepreneurial venture, the entire project was accredited in 90 days and is reputed to be the first branded karaoke lounge-singing/ songwriting school-recording studio facility in India. The coaching was one-on-one, and I had 86 students in all.
