Duties and Responsibilities in Intensive Care Unit

*Deliver bedside care to patients in a busy 9-bed ICU unit for trauma, post-surgical, and inpatient surgical

*Ensure 100% accuracy and completeness when documenting procedures, patient conditions, and the
administration of medications
*Assessed and monitored patients` neurological statuses, including calculating and maintaining desired
ICP and CPP values
*Implemented and titrated hypertonic solutions to maintain optimal ICP values in critically ill neurological
patients patients

Duties and Responsibilities in Intensive Care Unit
• Admitting and giving preoperative care for patients undergoing surgery.
• Taking care of post-operative patient, cardiovascular surgery. Administering oral/IV medications, blood products.
• Taking care of chest drains and other types of drains post- surgery.
• Assist with central line tracheostomy, chest drain insertions.

Duties and Responsibilities in Intensive Care Unit

• Evaluation and recording of patient condition.
• Prepare the patient for various investigations.
• Maintain barrier nursing techniques and prevent cross infection.
• Administer medications, blood and blood products.
• Urinary catheterization, NG tube insertion, chest tube insertion, central

line insertion, gastric lavage.
• Taking care of patient on ventilator.
