Roles & responsibilities

• Managed care of critical cardiac patients with current cardiac instability, status post immediate cardiac injury, and/or status post immediate cardiac procedure, including recovery and sheath removal with stabilization
• Able to perform the techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation accurately and effectively
• Responded to all emergencies in the hospital as one of the code blue team member
• Administered medications through intravenously or orally by using gastric tubes or other means necessary.
• Proficient at vaso-active, inotropic, sedation and pain medication drip titration for desired effect.
• Proficient at monitoring of hemodynamic status, lab reports, mechanical ventilators and reported significant changes.
• Continuous Cardiac monitoring for patients with cardiac disease.
• Care of pre- and post-angiography
• Care of patient with intra-aortic balloon pump.
• Assisted in the procedures like insertion of central lines and intubation.
• Performed dressing of central lines.
• Performed procedures of venous and arterial blood drawing, IV-line maintenance and insertion, naso-gastric tube insertion and management, Foley catheter insertion and management.
• Able to develop other staff by enabling them to apply theory to practice and encouraging them to test new skills in a safe and supportive environment.
• Experience of using advanced hospital equipments including different oxygen apparatus, syringe pumps, ventilators, IABP, ECG, tube feeding pumps etc.
• Involved in the administration procedures for patient’s admission and also their discharge.
• Carrying out administrative duties like updating and maintaining patient records as well as department records.
• Responsible for direct patient care within established standards of care, hospital and department policies and guidelines
• Experience of creating individual patient care systems that look after patients physical and social needs.
• Actively participate in unit activities and nursing councils
• Promoted to shift charge nurse making staff assignments and critical decisions for unit.
